Review: Ledger Nano S Hardware Bitcoin Wallet
I will start this review honestly. I am a fan of bitcoin but I don’t really work with bitcoin, never really charged anyone in bitcoin and only once paid in bitcoin. I literally have 43 dollars in a CoinBase account, not including the 5 dollars I transferred to my ledger Hardware bitcoin wallet.
While not a frequent user of bitcoin, I am however interested in it, I have tried a few times to sink money into it, and while most people are scared by how volatile the bitcoin markets are, I am scared of being hacked or something and losing all my hard earned coin. So when I found out about Ledger I said why not try it out.
Having a hardware wallet ads a huge layer of security, without your hardware, there is no way to transfer out or in any currency. The Ledger Nano S has built into it the same chip technology that your passport and credit card uses. Now you might be wondering, what if the device goes bad, or you lose it. Don’t worry you have a backup phrase that will restore your hard earned cryptocurrency to a new device. By the way, it can store over 40 different currencies.
Setting up the Leger Nano S was a bit complicated. You have to connect it to a computer, create a pin, and then verify the passphrase. Maybe it’s my bad eyes but it took me nearly 30 minutes to get it set up. But hey in order to protect your hard on digital cash you need to do what you need to do.
The Leger Nano S has a tamper-proof chip, so if it’s ever compromised you’d know even if it was put back together perfectly.
The Ledger Live Software which is needed to set up and use the device on the mac is a beautiful piece of software. You install the apps for the currency you use via the Ledger Live software, it’s really simple to do.
The ledger app shows you everything you need to know about your accounts, and it’s
Feel free to send me some bitcoin! Just kidding. But that is what the app looks like.
Overall the Ledger Nano S is a pretty cool device. I actually like it and will definitely start using bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
I love my Ledger Nano S, and I think you will too and for the $99.99 price
