Review: Guardzilla Outdoor 360 All-in-One Camera
Back in June Guardzilla announced the availability of their 360 All In One Camera and I was able to get my hands on one for a review! I will say this now, the camera will save you money by cutting down on the number of cameras you need, to secure your home or business.
The camera gives you a live 360 view in HD of any indoor or outdoor area and it even detects motion that can trigger a built-in alarm. The camera also allows for two way communication with the use of the mobile app.
The camera setup was fairly easy but the Guardzilla app leads a lot to be desired. They delivered an A+ product with a C- app. However, I will admit my dislike of the app has more to do with its aesthetics than its functionality, as it works flawlessly.
When placing the camera, indoors I recommend placing it in the center of the room on the ceiling. As in that position, you will get a full 360 view of the room. Motion will also be detected from all angels. The camera will record in a circle but everything will be super clear when viewing. You literally need 1 camera to view everything in the room. If there is any blind spot due to a short wall etc. you can add another camera but if there are no obstructions one camera is more then enough. While I recommend you place the camera on the ceiling upside down, you can place it on a table right side up. You can easily switch the positioning in the app.
If you are placing the camera outdoors, and want to get a view of what is around your business or home you just need 1 camera for each wall and I’d recommend placing them at the highest point in the middle of the wall.
I only tested it indoors, but I do plan to test it outdoors and update this review, just waiting to fly out to my home in the Dominican Republic to do that, and see how it handles the tropical sun.
The video quality is amazing, everything shows up crystal clear in the app and when saving and downloading the video to your phone. Also its so cool that it has a VR type aspect to the app, where if you spin in a circle the cameras viewpoint swings with you. You will notice it in the first video below. While you don’t have to actually move around to view the camera from all angles you can still use your finger and you will use your fingers to pinch and zoom, the 2nd video below shows the pinch and zoom effect. You’ll also notice how clear the night vision is, in the video below.
Below are samples of what snapshots will look like. Even if you zoom in and take a snapshot they will always appear like this.
The camera is fantastic, and honestly, I want 3 more for my home to get every angle. But I do have one dislike. The siren, the siren the siren…it just isn’t loud. If the person robbing your location hears it they may just laugh, that is how weak the siren is. I don’t even understand why the siren sounds so low the two-way communication feature works flawlessly and I can understand and hear whoever’s speaking just fine. But the siren leaves a lot to be desired.
Overall, as I have said multiple times already, the camera is great and will save you money because it will eliminate the need for multiple cameras in some instances it will be all you need to cover every inch of a room. So I highly recommend it and award it our 4 Star award!
The camera is available at BestBuy so click on over to them to get yours.
