2018 Holiday Gift Guide
It’s that time of the year, my favorite time of the year, and while I loved getting gifts when younger I actually enjoy getting gifts for my family and seeing them enjoy what I got them.
While most gift guides this year, will tell you, your kids will want a new iPhone and your husband or wife will want the new iPad Pro. I am going to be skipping over the “given” gifts of the year and focus the guide a bit on niches, such as auto, gaming, drones, home security, and travel, but yes all will be tech related gifts.
Let’s start this year’s gift guide with the gamer in mind and I have two gifts in mind. For the PC Gamer in your life, Razer has probably the best wireless mouse on the market for gamers. I love mines and you’re gamer will be sure to love their Razer Mamba Wireless Mouse. The mouse features 7 programmable buttons, up to 50 hours of battery life and will deliver endless gameplay.
Your gamer will love it, I have been using mine for over 2 months now and while not the heavy gamer I use to be. I love the mouse and for the $99 dollar price tag, it’s not a bad investment. Visit Razer.com for more info on the Mamba Wireless mouse.
The second gift suggestion on the list for a gamer will actually work for everyone who is on a computer a lot. It’s actually helped relax my eyes and I am finding that I have fewer headaches. Eagle Eyes glasses are great and will save your eyes or the eyes for the person you gift them too. I have tried similar products from Gunnar Optics and even paid to have my glasses coated with anti-reflective coatings but nothing has made my eyes feel more relaxed like Eagle Eyes Glasses. For more info visit eagleeyes.com.
Next on the list are drones, I am a huge fan of drones and the drone I am going to recommend isn’t the newest drone on the market but is one of the easiest to fly and best on the market. It’s the DJI Spark. It offers 16 minutes of flying a 12MP camera and it’s a whole lot of fun. I recommend the Fly More Combo if you purchase one because it brings two batteries which will deliver 32 minutes of fly time. This drone is so fun and easy to fly that you will probably want to buy more batteries and the charging hub. (comes with the fly more combo) It’s also available in several colors, I got mines in Lava Red! For more info visit https://store.dji.com.
In Home Security, we again for the 2nd year in a row recommend Arlo. We reviewed the Arlo system two years ago, and still love it and with the constant additions to the product line you are bound to always have an up to date security system. This year my Arlo system helped me catch a robber in my store in the Dominican Republic. In fact, the video quality of the robbery was so good, the police caught the robber within 20 minutes of the robbery, and various neighboring store has ordered the system when they found out which system we used. The System isn’t just good for stores, but homes as well, they have a doorbell camera, security lights and more. For more info visit arlo.com
In the Auto gift category, there were two gifts that I was considering but decided just to share one.
It’s Harman Spark for at&t. This was a late entry and quite honestly I am glad it made it in just before the deadline. Harman Spark will turn your car into a smart car. It adds Wi-Fi GPS functionality and monitors your car’s internals and your or your kids driving habits, it also offers roadside and emergency assistance if you are in an accident. I love the fact that it will call up to 5 love ones if you don’t answer. I was only able to test it out for 2 days and once I test it more I will have a more in-depth review, but I can tell you right now if you have a car with an ODB port and would like to add additional functionality. Visit at&t and check out the Harman Spark. The spark will cost you $79 dollars with no contractual commitment. 2-year contract the device will cost you $19.99 or you can finance it for $4 a month. The service starts at 5 dollars and up to $30 for unlimited data. For more info visit your local at&t store or online at att.com.
Next is the gift for the Traveler in your life and this was another late entry, but something I love and a great gift for anyone who travels a lot. The Tumi Global Luggage Locator. I travel monthly and have and often have had my bags misplaced by the airline especially when traveling outside of the US. Hopefully, I will be able to be on top of my bags more often with the Tumi Global Locator. I am actually going to give it a real test tonight when I fly from JFK to SDQ and return on Sunday night. The global locator allows you to keep an eye on your luggage without actually having your eyes on it. With travel mode, you can see if your luggage is actually on the plane with you, in hotel mode, it will show you if your luggage leaves your hotel room when it shouldn’t. It also has a proximity sensor that will let you know how far your bag is from you. I will have a more in-depth review of the Tumi Global Locator next month, but it definitely had to make the 2018 Christians Gift Guide list. For more info check out the Tumi Site.
I hope you enjoy your holidays! Thanks for reading.
