Tis the Season to be jolly whatever your beliefs may be, this time of the year is the best. In the times we live in, and in a world where almost everyone is super busy trying to keep themselves afloat we all seem to make time for one another this time of year. It isn’t uncommon to see people lending a hand to a stranger and even finding more time to spend some extra time with family and friends. During the Holidays we tend to look past our differences and the world just seems like a happier place.
So regardless of what your beliefs we wish that your holidays are full of joy and with that we bring you or annual Holiday Gift Guide with a new twist this year. We will label some of our recommendations “Double Geek”. All this means is that our partner site CuteGeek.com also recommended the same product. Oh and be sure to check out CuteGeek.com for their Holiday Gift Guide.
We will do a count down from 10 to 1. With the 10th being the gift we think everyone would want. We will also include various stocking stuffers though out the guide which won’t be numbered.
10: Blackberry Torch for at&t
In an effort to be transparent, I am an at&t brand ambassador and was given the Blackberry Torch for free. However because the Torch is such an amazing device it’s replaced my iPhone. While the torch may not have an marketplace (AppWorld) loaded with as many apps as the Apple Marketplace for the iPhone but the apps it does have are the apps I need. It also handles emails and my appointments in a more streamlined easy to get manner than an iPhone. It also keeps me up to date with my Facebook friends and my twitter feeds. I love my Torch. The Blackberry Torch for at&t wireless is available for $99.99 with a two year service agreement from http://wireless.att.com but be sure to check out http://www.wirefly.com for deals there, use coupon code “WIREFLY2GMC4U” for a free memory card for your phone.

9: LiveScribe Echo Smartpen
The LiveScribe Echo Smartpen is every geeks best friend. The Echo Smartpen will allow your geek to take notes and put those notes onto a computer. Will allow him or her to create pencast which basically is a podcast/blog. But it’s written down and you can actually record your thoughts and share them. The Echo Smartpen can be loaded with apps to help you solve a math problem or translate a word, and in the event your geek gets bored he or she can even use it to play games. For the geek who loves to draw there is even an App that will allow them to draw onto paper and it appears on screen in real time. Pretty sweet if you ask me. The LiveScribe Echo Smartpen is available directly from LiveScribe.com but also available at BestBuy.com and BestBuy Stores. I have also seen them on Staples.com and in Staples stores.

7: iPad 16 or 32 GB Wi-Fi Version (Double Geek)
The Apple iPad, doesn’t really need an explanation as to what it is and its recommendation is obvious. It is an all-in-one handheld slate device. It is your eBook reader, it is your Netbook it is your web browser it is everything you would want it to be and the thousands of apps available to it make it one of the most powerful and lucrative devices around. But why the Wi-Fi version and not the 3G Version? Simply put there is free or cheap wi-fi almost everywhere. Plus if you have a phone that supports tethering you can easily share its internet connectivity. The iPad is available at the Apple Store, Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart.

6: WD TV Live Hub
The WD TV live hub in our opinion is the best companion for your television that has ever existed. The WDTV live hub brings, NetFlix, Blockbuster On Demand, Facebook, Pandora and YouTube Videos to your television. But that’s not all. It also brings the videos and pictures on your home network to the big screen in the living room. It also has a 1TB internal hard drive so you can even store the data onto the device and allows you to mirror folders on your computer on the device itself making it not only a content streamer but a backup. The $199 price tag makes it more attractive than any similar device such as apple TV and it’s easy to use user interface makes it the easiest to use. The WD TV Live Hub is available from http://store.westerndigital.com the WD TV Live Hub is also available exclusively from Best Buy.

5: iRobot Roomba and Scooba
We Geeks work a lot, we also have very few minutes in the day to do chores. After all after work we have to sit down and get onto WOW and fight the Alliance/Horde! Because Red/Blue is number 1!!!!!! Because of this hectic schedule we may not have an apartment or home that is as clean as It should be and with the money most of us make we can’t afford a maid. So why not use a robot that can sweep and mop for us? iRobot offers two such robots the Roomba and the Scooba. The Roomba sweeps and vacuums and the Scooba mops and scrubs your floor. Both are high ticket items costing $300+ each but both are well worth it. Roombas are available at Best Buy, Target and even on Amazon.com, Scoobas can be found on Amazon and Buy.com. Or you can order directly from iRobot.

4: Windows Phone 7 (Double Geek)
Any Windows Phone 7 be it the Samsung Focus, HTC Surround and LG Quantum for at&t wireless or the HTC HD7 for T-Mobile. Windows Phone 7 devices are the best devices on the market right now. Move over iPhone iOS and Android there’s a new mobile OS in town. I am really surprised that Windows Phone 7 was created by Microsoft because for the first time in the 10 years that I have been following Microsoft they finally have listened to its consumers and not business customers when creating the Windows Phone 7 OS and because of that they have created the best mobile smart phone experience ever. For more information on Windows Phone and the devices visit http://www.wndowsphone.com http://wireless.att.com and http://tmobile.com

LG Quantum and Samsung Focus both on att.

Why Zune Pass? Because Zune pass works with Windows Phone 7 and you can stream music to your phone over the wireless network.
3: iPod Touch or Zune
The new iPod Touch is great but so is the Zune. It really comes down to what you prefer. Are you more into apple or Microsoft? If you don’t own an Xbox 360 and/or a Windows Phone then get an iPod Touch if you do own an Xbox 360 and/or a Windows Phone then get a Zune and use a Zune pass to get music to all devices.

2: TomTom Go 2405/2505 TM
Earlier this month TomTom announced the best GPS Devices I have ever seen/used. Both with beautiful displays and features that most other GPS devices lack. I recently reviewed the TomTom Go 2505 so maybe that’s why its number 2 only after the Kinect but trust me it is a great GPS. It has IQ Routes which learns the roads you drive and can give you more accurate arrival times. It can even offer alternate routes depending on the time of day to help save you time. For more information and where to buy a TomTom Go 2405/2505 visit http://www.tomtom.com

1: The Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect (Double Geek)
The Kinect is the most wanted, must have game device for Christmas all geeks male and female alike will love this and it’s in so high demand that over a million were sold in the first 10 days of its sale. The Kinect allows the user to be the controller. No need to hold a remote or an ice-cream looking device in your hand, your body controls what goes on in the game. What is also so great about the Kinect is that it’s a family gift. It’s a gift that not only will entertain the person it’s given to but their entire family. In fact if you get this for your family you should put everyone’s name on the label. Xbox 360 Kinect is available alone or bundled with an Xbox 360 system from all your major e-tailers and retailers. Such as Amazon.com, Buy.com, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart and Target.

So you may be wondering, hmmm they didn’t mention a certain product I wonder why.
Well if that product was the Logitech Revue (Google TV Companion Box) well while we used it and it’s an ok product. I honestly feel that Google TV isn’t really ready for prime time and honestly wouldn’t wish that thing on anyone. After all it’s the holidays wouldn’t want to ruin it for someone.
I just know the following will be asked. Wait wait you recommended the BlackBerry Torch and The Samsung and HTC Windows Phone. Why the fudge not an iPhone 4? We having been an iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 owner, I just don’t think the iPhone is the best smart phone on the market at the moment and not worthy of being on the list. Then someone will ask what about Android. Umm yeah best android phones in my opinion are the Galaxy S phones from Samsung however their battery life is horrible.
Enjoy your holidays!
