Today Symantec announced the availability of the Norton 2011 Beta Software. The Beta software is free for everyone to try out and you can download it over at http://www.norton.com/beta.
I have been using the beta for a little close to two months now, and I continued to be impressed by how Symantec has reworked their software to not only be resource friendly but user friendly. I litterally installed the software on my mothers computer, and she was able to figure it out herself. For example she isn’t a big fan of the Identity Safe feature in Norton Internet Seucirty so she always disables it and she was happy that it was so easy to disable in the 2011 beta. That’s just one example of how much easier Norton has made their product.
I have never seen any security software give me all the important settings on the home screen. Just check out the screen shot below. All of the most imporant features and settings are right there in your fact. Not too much and not too little.
I am really digging what Symantec has done with the home screen.
Norton has also improved on some of the features we have come to love in their 2010 product, such as Download Intelligence Feature. In the 2010 product it only really checked downloads in Internet Explorer and Firefox. In the 2011 version check out all the software it will monitor downloads from.

Norton also wants to protect us on that website everyone seems to love now a days Facebook. You can now download a free tool from Symantec, that will scan your facebook wall for malicious links. So you won’t fall the victim of any facebook scams. The tool is called Norton Safe Web for Facebook and can be downloaded at http://apps.facebook.com/nortonsafeweb/
I am excited about the Norton Internet Security and Antivirus 2011 beta, and I suggest you all test it out you’re going to love it!
