Logitech today unveiled a new remote to their Harmony line which we at HardwareGeeks.com are huge fans of. The Harmony 300 is probably one of the simplest remotes available from Logitech and from what I have heard about the remote one of the easiest to set up. The remote can replace up to four other remotes.
“Most universal remotes have a bad reputation for being hard to program and, as a result, you still use more than one remote to control the devices you own,” said Ashish Arora, vice president and general manager of Logitech’s digital home group. “With the Harmony 300, we wanted to deliver the Harmony remote promise of one remote to control your entertainment system to everyone. No more excuses — it’s time to get rid of the stack of remotes on your coffee table and simplify your home entertainment experience.”
According to research done by Logitech 75 million households across the US and Europe have tried to program a Universal remote and were disatisfied with the process. You can count my household as 1 of the 75 million. With the Harmony 300 you simply connect the remote to your computer go to the myharmony.com website, tell the site what devices you have and it will program your remote for you. Really simple and easy to do.
The Remote will be available for $49.99 in April in both the US and Europe. For more information on the remote visit http://www.logitech.com/news/harmony300
