If there is one thing your home can not be without, it’s the HP Touchsmart PC, I say that because it in my opinion is the central hub of the home. It’s a refrigerator door replacement. It’s your brand new Cook Book, it’s a radio a television its so much more than just a computer that no home should be without it.
I have placed my Touchsmart 600 by my front door which is in my living room, and I use it as a security center (have a camera on my outside door that feeds to it), as a stereo, a picture frame and a messaging center where family members leave each other video and written notes.
While my Touchsmart ended up by the front door, there are perfect spots all over the home for it. My favorite is the kitchen counter. Why? Because of its cook book app called Recipe Box. How the app works is it allows you to browse popular cooking websites and clip recipes. It recites the recipe to you. How cool is that?
You can actually tell the app to read the recipe go back a step etc. Really cool and great tool to have at your fingertips. You need a Bluetooth headset for it to work correctly though and I had some trouble setting it up, but it was user error and it is actually pretty simple to set it up.
There is also a twitter app so you can keep up to date with all your friends’ status or update yours.
My nephew’s favorite app is the Netflix one, however I found myself never using it on the Touchsmart as I don’t think it is the best pc or screen for that matter to watch a movie on and or do day to day pc work on. I don’t like how the monitor stands. It isn’t a comfortable angel for me, however if you’re standing over it and using your fingers its perfect.
The Canvas app is also cool as it allows you to create collages of any pictures you may have on your Touchsmart.
My favorite feature of all though is the HP Link feature, which allows you to sync your mobile device via Bluetooth with your Touchsmart.
Overall HP has done wonders with their Touchsmart line and it will be a great tool in any home regardless of where you may put it.
