HP Scanjet Professional 1000 Mobile Scanner

I travel a lot and when you travel a lot you often find yourself making friends with the guys and gals that work at the counters of various Kinkos around the country, or spending an arm and a leg just to scan 1 or two documents.

So being able to get the ScanJet Professional 1000 Mobile scanner to review would not only be a fun experience but a money saving one as well.

The scanner does not even weight a pound and if it does it doesn’t feel like it, it fits perfectly into your briefcase and since it is so light weight it doesn’t make your bag feel heavy and since it only requires one USB cable for power and data transfer there isn’t a lot of bulky cables in your bag. Oh and it does work on both PC and Mac.

The Scanjet Pro 1000 scan quality is great for documents and comes with loads of software such as Nuance Omni Page 17 which will allow you easily keep track of your scanned documents. There is even a business card reader software that will make it easy for you to store those business cards. No need to lug them home with you after a trip to a convention. Just scan them in your hotel room and trash them, unless you are like me and like to collect them. 

The scanner is also rather fast, I averaged about 8 pages per minute and which considering the size of the scanner is pretty fast.

I really liked that the scanner has a 1 button scan to PDF feature. Once the software is installed you simply place a piece of paper into the scanner hit the PDF button and bam it scans it to a PDF, really dig that feature.

Overall the HP Scanjet Professional 1000 Mobile Scanner is a fantastic scanner for anyone on the go. Its price point is a bit high at $249.99 but after looking over my receipts for the past year and a half for just getting documents scanned at Kinkos ($194.93) not counting cab fare from and to my hotel it sort of pays for itself after a while.
