Commander: Conquest of the Americas

Last week Paradox Interactive announced the availability of Commander: Conquest of the Americas a stratergy and simulation game. Where you strategize on how to conquer “The Americas” with out going broke, and you simulate naval battles on the high seas.

When I first installed the game I expected it to be boring, but after 10 minutes I was hooked and unable to to take myself away from the game. In fact it is 5:53 am EST and I just got done playing. It was 9:45 pm EST when I started and even on the easy level I have had a hard time conquering the americas. In fact I would say only one of my 15 campaigns so far have yield a positive result and even that campaign ended with me getting my ass kicked when all the other countries (7 in total) declared war on me.

The graphics in the game are great for the type of game it is. I do however wish i could zoom in a bit more into the colonies I have so that I am able to see the buildings etc. Would also be cool if we could select mayors for our town and what not but then again the game would probably have to be named Colonial Management or something.

Game Play is pretty straight forward, you start with 3 ships and 50 people, an you set out to colonize, and as I already said the game is really addictive.

I suggest you all try it out, you can download a demo over at Gamers Gate
