Cisco Unveils new line of Linksys Wireless Routers

Today Cisco announced a new life of Linksys wireless routers, designed to let all types of users from novice to tech experts and enthusiast to take their home networking experience to a new level. Supposedly the new line of routers will simplify our home networks, and will have a piece of software available called Cisco Connect that will allow users to easier customize and control their network.

“Linksys pioneered the first home router 10 years ago, and 50 million units later is the world’s leading provider of home wireless routers,” said Jonathan Kaplan, senior vice president and general manager of Cisco Consumer Products. “The new E-Series caters to Linksys’ core technology-minded consumer base, with a simplified product line-up that is ideal for today’s sophisticated home network user.”

Linksys Improves Power Adapter

Today at Pepcoms EcoFocus event in NYC, I met up with Brenna Karr from Linksys who showed me a new power adapter Linksys hopes to include with all their future products. The new power adapter is energy star rated 5 which means it will most likely save you money and energy.

The new adapter also looks a lot better and appears to take up less room compared to other adapters I have seen from linksys and their competitors, I personally am happy for the smaller adapter as I hate when they take up more then one socket on my surge protector.
