AOC e2243FW AireLED Monitor

Last month I was able to get my hands on the razor thin e2243FW monitor from AOC and I have to say I am pretty impressed with it. It is a stylish, sleek looking 22 inch LED Monitor with the price point of a traditional LCD of its size, actually come to think of it, most LCD’s at this size cost more.

The e2243FW is a beautiful monitor that I think mac users will love because of its white color, it sort of looks like something apple would make but didn’t.  Definitely way more affordable than anything apple would make. The monitor is also razor thing, it’s thinner than a number 2 pencil.

AOCThe first day I had the e2243FW I replaced an HP monitor with a huge base. I never realized how much space it was taking up until the Razor was in its spot. I think I regained 40% of my workspace. It was like going from an old clunky CRT monitor to a LCD monitor all over again. I had room for my organizer on my desk again! I had been keeping it in my drawer.

I also have to admit that I had a blonde moment when I powered up the Razor. I couldn’t find the power button. Took me a good five minutes to locate it. The power button really isn’t a button but a touch sensitive spot on the base. It lights up only after you tap it and since its white it blends in. If you didn’t know it was there you won’t see it. I guess if I had read the manual I would of saved myself 5 minutes smile.

After having my blond moment I turned on the e2243FW and for some reason the edges of my mouth started to move upward and my teeth started to show. I was happy the thing was beautiful!

The picture quality was simply amazing, I immediately plopped a Blu-Ray copy of avatar into my pc and just watched it all over again. The quality really was amazing can’t stress that enough.  But then again I didn’t expect anything else from the e2243FW as it supports over 16 million colors, has a quick 5ms response time, and 1080 resolution.

I also gamed with the Razor. I didn’t know what to expect never used an LED monitor to game before but there was no ghosting what so ever. I credit the 5ms response time for that. I even ran 3D mark with it and in the entire imagery test it never failed or faltered.

I know some of you are going to wonder if it supports standard Vesa mounts. It does in fact the base converts into a Vesa mount!

Overall the AOC Razor LED e2243FW is a fantastic monitor and for the $159.99 price tag you can’t go wrong, if you want one you can get one at buy.com for $147. The price is amazing, the monitor is beautiful and you’re getting a quality brand. You may not have heard of AOC but trust me a lot of big name Television and Monitor makers use their panels.

For those curios the Razor LED is also energy efficient, and has one of the lowest power usage settings.
